Let’s Get Grounded!

You formed my innermost being,

shaping my delicate inside and my intricate outside,

and wove them all together in my mother’s womb.

I thank you God, for making me so mysteriously complex!

Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking!

It simply amazes me to think about it!

How thoroughly you know me, Lord!

You even shaped every bone in my body,

When you created me in the secret place,

Carefully, skillfully shaping me

From nothing to something!

Psalms 139:13-15

I remember being a young girl and falling in love with the study of science. It was as if a new world of secrets opened up to me.  I loved discovering all the things going on around us and in us.  It is simply amazing. When I started high school, my love for science continued as I studied biology. One day the teacher told us we were going to dissect a frog. While most high school girls would be squeamish, I remembering thinking, “This is going to be so fun!”  Opening up that little creature and discovering what was inside was fascinating to me. We have life all around us, the earth being one of them.  It is alive and active. The earth itself is full of electrons ready to release them to us who connect with the earth. Did you know that every time lightening hits the ground it releases up to 2 million volta of electricity? We are an electrical being and we need to receive those electrons that the earth has.Y You may be asking how we “connect” to the earth and what happens when we do (this practice is otherwise known as grounding or earthing).  We can connect to the earth by taking our shoes off and walking or standing barefoot on the ground.  When we do this, we are recharging our bodies.  Grounding helps recalibrate our cells and hormones, as well as has an anti-inflammatory effect. Those free electrons come up into our bodies and get rid of free radicals, which is a major cause of inflammation leading to disease. It’s fascinating to know that we can connect to the earth and it can possibly help heal and relieve our sickness. Health is just as close as the earth is to our feet. Inflammation, sickness, and pain in your body are all but a manifestation – big or small – of an electron deficiency and the remedy is as close as the earth you live on! So, I challenge you to try grounding. Get those shoes off and start walking or standing on dirt, sand, grass or even cement. For best results, try it everyday for about 20 – 40 minutes. I’ve personally tried this and can tell you it works. If you are stressed you owe it to yourself to give it a try. I’m so impressed with God! The days of creation where He spoke things into being was more than epic! There are really no words that could even come close to explaining what happened on those 6 days of creation. Think about this, He spoke and a tree was created.  But not just a tree that was to stand alone.  But it had everything in it to live and even produce another tree. Then, He created man.  He even thought of everything down to the atoms, neutrons, and electrons, and all those things that hold us together. I believe that it is a miracle everyday that we are able to get up and live and breathe. I believe that God has given each of us the ability to steward our bodies. I don’t believe He made us for us to just abuse our bodies.  I don’t think you believe that either. Now is the time to take responsibility for ourselves and to trust God to help us become everything He intended us to be. Rick Warren’s quotes says it best, “God created it. Jesus died for it. The Spirit lives in it. I’d better take care of it.” I would encourage you to sit down and take some time to ponder this thought and to begin making some goals on how you can take more responsibility for yourself and your health.  I guarantee that as you start setting those goals, you are going to feel better and life will be fuller.     • Beni~ You are speaking my love language with this post!! God has been pulling at my heartstrings to move to Redding for the past 3 years. In the meantime, he shows me visions and encounters of things related to Grounding and the metaphysical energy of the Earth. Well I moved up here 6 weeks ago. Received my prophetic words last weekend and they prophesied that God is revealing things to me for a future season in the church and is going to use me to move the direction of the Body of Christ with new ideas. Grounding is just the tip of the iceberg of what I’ve been shown. I’m sooooo excited how His plan is all starting to come together that my body feels like sparks are going off, I can hardly contain the excitement!!

  1. As chiildren my sister & I were never allowed to go “barefooted” until May 1st. According my to mom, who got this from her mom, the ground just wasn’t warm enough before that magical date. We could hardly wait until May 1st! From May 1st until school started in September we hardly ever wore shoes! And we were never sick. Hhhhmmm, maybe my grandmother & my mom were on to something. I think I’m going to reinstitute that childhood tradition.

  3. Alright! Great article. I had no idea. But I do know I’ve always loved going without socks and shoes. The beach is also one of my favorite places. No wonder. Here’s to health and toes in the sand! Thanks for sharing Mrs Beni! I’m not a grandma. I just turned 30 in February. You’re so inspiring! I love your free spirit.

  4. An interesting read for sure, but unfortunately not based on any reliable science. Speaking as a degree holding biologist, this shows a limited understanding of how free radicals work. I wonder how the millions of people living in true poverty feel about this idea? Does having bare feet fix all their health problems by allowing electrons to be transferred from the earth? Or is having something to protect the feet actually seen as something desirable? Or how about the many many people who live in climates that don’t allow for bare feet outdoors? Are they destined to always be sick because they have no access to electrons? Think about it: why would electrons not be transferred constantly from the ‘earth’ to the air we breath in, considering both contain atoms to and from which electrons could be passed? What is it about our feet that is any different to any other bunch of atoms in contact with the ground?

    I feel the presented information can only be dreamed up by those living very comfortable lives. A genuine suggestion: how about donating all profit made from your up and coming book to provide foot wear for the countless people who can’t afford it, but would benefit massively? And then fund a true, peer reviewed scientific research project into the health and well being of those recipients before and after. Or, do it just simply to serve the poor by using the resources you have. Being in a place of influence, surely promoting practical serving would be more beneficial than this pseudo-science?

    • Get the book called earthing. And then ask all the people who are doing it and it’s working for them. This is a short article to encourage people to research for themselves. Your comment is rely not useful. Experiencing something is more important then a bunch of your words. You haven’t tried it. Your thinking is a western mind set that speaks and doesn’t experience. Try it sir

      • Beni’s reply to Phil’s concern is surprising and disappointing. I am shocked that a leader from Bethel would blatantly suggest “experiencing” or even experimenting with this kind of spiritual activity. It takes little research to see that the grounding outlined by Beni is the same activity used in for meditation and astral projection – that is occult activities. The naturopathic control website, for example, lists a number of techniques for getting in-touch with Mother Earth. The naturopathic website describes grounding/earthing in the same way as Beni does here. The Bible clearly states that God “will resolutely reject persons who dabble in the occult or traffic with mediums” (Lev 20:6). Yes, God created the earth, but if we His children could connect with Him through the earth then we would not need Jesus to die for us nor the Holy Spirit to intercede for us. Of course, we have a responsibility to steward God’s creation, to enjoy God’s creation and to look after ourselves, but the suggestion to use occult activities to connect with a Holy God is dangerous and irresponsible.

    • Dear Phil,
      There is actually incredible measured studies on how grounding changes the blood, decreases inflammation, balances blood sugar, decreases pain.
      For me it had dramatically changed my life. Doctors could not figure out the cause of excessive blood levels and inflammation in my body. I lived in pain daily, exhausted and rarely got deep restorative sleep.
      I started grounding for 80 minutes the first time. My sleep was immediately affected and the next day experienced less inflammation.
      I now sleep with a grounding mat.
      My blood levels are now normal, after years of complications. Grounding was the number one means in the natural that the Lord has used to bring healing to my body.
      I also used this after an injury and was told by the doctor that he was so surprised at how fast my body healed.
      Phil, if you do the research I know you will find scientific studies with evidence of how grounding helps in the healing process of our bodies.
      If you haven’t tried earthing or grounding, try it! I started with 80 minutes because I was desperate, and this is the amount measured in some studies for it to affect the blood in the body at a faster rate.

  5. I have a question regarding best herbs and supplements to take during menopause? I am 52 years old and have been suffering with different symptoms. I eat well and exercise consistently, but just know I need some supplement help. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you, Shelley

    • Yes, mysealoe.com. I’ve used it for years. Maca, used as directed. Pure Peppermint oil used on the back of next. Increase your protein and eat your carbs early in the day. Cut your alcohol and remind sugars. Eat a small portion of protein right before bed. Use that peppermint oil right before bed as well. This will all help with hot flashes at night.

  6. Never allowed to walk barefoot as a child, because I grew up in a different culture, Most of my life, I m a bit nervous to walk barefoot, but, after reading this article, I tried twice and love it,… thanks so much for your insight.
